Beginner Level 1 Yoga
Linda's classes are aimed at beginners who would like to explore yoga in a relaxed, comfortable, friendly environment at which they can work at their own pace according to their own ability and to discover for themselves the benefits that yoga can bring to their daily lives. The class includes yoga postures (asana) and breathing techniques that improve vitality, posture and restore mind/body balance. No previous experience needed.
Intermediate Hatha Yoga
The Intermediate class flows along the same lines as the beginners class but the pace is faster. This class is suitable for those who have been practicing yoga for a while, feel confident with the beginners class and would like to practice a more challenging class to deepen their experience and knowledge of Hatha practices and diciplines.
Morning Flow Yoga
In this dynamic fluid Vinyasa style yoga class you will experience a rhythmic and energetic approach to flow yoga where the breath initiates and inspires all movement. The class is based on the inspired teachings of Shiva Rea, which express many ways to move beyond body parts into wholeness. Fluid power emphasizes diversity and creativity in movement by integrating spontaneous freedom within the structure of yoga practice. We are 80% water so being fluid is our very nature!
Gentle Yoga
This gentler and slower paced practice makes yoga more accessible to people of all sizes, ages and fitness levels. Yoga can provide pain relief, relax stiff muscles, and ease sore joints. Yoga with it's controlled movements, pressures, stretches, and deep breathing relaxation, can also provide needed range of motion exercise. Gentle yoga removes any fears or challenges in doing yoga, while it also assists with stress reduction and weight management by helping to balance the body from inside out. It creates an atmosphere of safety and comfort that fosters self-acceptance and deep inner connection.
Pregnancy Yoga
Pregnancy yoga is a safe and ideal way of keeping fit and mobile during pregnancy. The carefully chooses movements help keep the body supple, boost energy, relieve common ailments like swollen joints and back pain, relieves stress, promotes restful sleep and can really help mothers to bond with their unborn baby. It is suitable for anyone who is over 14 weeks pregnant and who has been given permission for their doctor to practice.
Mother and Baby yoga
The post natal classes are friendly and relaxed so that babies can be fed, changed, dandled, soothed, and sleep whenever they need. Every class is characterised by a positive 'give and take' that alternates yoga for mums, with yoga for babies. Classes offer a lively mix of practices for the babies - passive stretching and rhythmic movement accompanied by singing and action songs - and postnatal recovery for mums - improving posture, re-energising and recovering strength and vitality. The sessions usually end with a period of deep relaxation and a well-earned cup of tea and a chat.
Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga
A dynamic, challenging and flowing combination of poses taken from Ashtanga yoga and other styles of vinyasa yoga. The practice focuses on the synchronisation of breath with the continuous flow of movement. The many benefits of this class include strength (both inside and out), detoxification, mental and physical balance, flexibility and stamina. Vinyasa yoga is more than a simple set of physical maneuvers; the flow of the practice combined with the breath brings union to the internal and the external body. Suitable for those who have attended yoga previously.
Yoga for Tri-Athletes
Trying to improve competitiveness? Yoga definitely does that. It increases balance, strength and flexibility - three of the five essential components (along with speed and endurance) of physical fitness. And, maybe most important of all, it teaches focus and relaxation, integrating mind and body. Anyone who is prepared to swim, bike and run for three to six hours knows the importance of mental, combined with physical strength. Professional tri-athletes use yoga as part of their strength training regimen. Restorative sessions, that put the mind and body back in balance and deeply open tight muscle groups, provide an ideal way to relax... while staying ready for the next challenge.
Pilates
Pilates is a complete exercise method dedicated to improving physical and mental health developed by it's founder Joseph Pilates over the course of his lifetime. It is designed to stengthen and engage your core waist and lower back muscles helping to improve posture and prevent injury. It is a safe and sensible exercise system that is suitable for all ages and fitness levels.
Some benifts of the practice are increased body awareness, stronger core (toned abdomen), stronger lower back muscles, improved flexibility, better posture., improved co-ordination and balance and a refreshed mind.
Hot Detox Yoga Flow
A challenging, powerful and rejuvenating class to detoxify your body and your mind. The poses are sequenced for firming up, de-bloating, resetting the metabolism, increasing energy and cleansing the inner body. Every part of the body will be pushed, pulled and twisted to facilitate the removal of waste products such as carbon dioxide, lactic acid and lymphatic fluid from the deep tissues and extremities of the body that a jog or cycle just will not get to. The purification of the internal organs will help to release accumulated toxins, reduce their burden on your body and support optimal health and energy. The class experience is enhanced with a warm room (25C+) that facilitates the detox process of the body and will promote deep healing and more flexibility. Suitable for those with previous yoga experience.
Integrative Meditation
Integrative Meditation is an all encompassing set of Meditation Techniques that combines Eastern traditional meditation philosopies and practices with Western contemporary meditation and relaxation sciences. It is a very powerful self supporting technique that when practiced regularly can benefit the physical, mental and emotional wellbeing of any individual. Meditation is for Everyone! This class demystifies the practice of meditation and presents it in a friendly and intimate setting giving persons of all backgrounds and experience the opportunity to learn to meditate. Whether you just want peace and clarity of mind, a space to unwind and relax or to embrace it as a powerful method of self development, this class will give you many options and opportunities to put meditation to postive effect in your life.
Hatha Flow Level Two
Hatha Yoga flow with Yin and Yang elements is a series of yoga asanas practiced with time to deepen the pose, to work with precise alignment and improve balance and stability. This class is an excellent combination of "action and non action": mildly challenging the physical body with strong standing postures to prepare to move into the stillness of sitting and restorative poses. The practice can be adapted to suit everybody. The class is suitable to those who have done a beginner's course and would like to take their practice a little further. Energy and stamina will be developed, and a bit of fun is always guaranteed!
